  • National Defence College (NDC) was established as the premier institute that promotes strategic thinking for the senior officers of the Tri-Services, Police and Public Service. Its mission is to provide holistic knowledge with a view of developing highly qualified strategic decision-makers in the realm of the national security, statecraft, diplomacy and public policy to ensure national security and national development of Sri Lanka. The reading will aim at creating strategic thinkers, strategic analysts, decision-makers and strategic advisors. The institution will provide professional counsel to the Government in national and international security matters and also acts as a think-tank on matters of national security.
