The First “Diners Club” Event of National Defence College Course Number 03/2024

National Security and Strategic Studies (NS&SS) Course No 3/2024, the “DINERS CLUB” evocative event was held on 14 March 2024, in a pristine environment at the NDC green lawn.

Senior Professor of Business Economics & Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo, Professor H. D. Karunaratne, was presented as the guest speaker. The event was organised by inviting academia’s from various universities and senior military officers. Prof. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri, Prof. Praveen Abhayarathne, Dr. Maneesha Pasqual and Rear Admiral Anil Bowatte RSP & Bar USP nswc ndu psc, were warmly welcomed to the event by the NDC Commandant Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu MSc.

The guest speaker enlightened the audience on the theme of “Evolution of Sri Lankan Economy: Pre-Colonial, Post-Colonial, & Modern Periods” followed by an insightful Q & A session. A brief interactive session with Course Participants were arranged at the NDC Officers’ Mess before and after the address.
