The Annual Research Symposium of the National Defence College themed "Achieving Economic Resilience and Implications on National Security." was held on 06th November 2024. This flagship event brought together leading experts, scholars, and practitioners to explore critical issues at the nexus of Economic Stability, National Security, and Global Dynamics.

The symposium was graced by Major General Amal Karunasekara (Retd), former Commandant of NDC, as the Chief Guest, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Senior Professor HD Karunarathne, as the Keynote Speaker. Their insightful speeches set the tone for a day of vibrant discussions and forward-thinking perspectives.

Organized around the course modules of the National Security and Strategic Studies (NS&SS) Course, the symposium covered a broad spectrum of themes, including national security dynamics, historical contexts, and strategies shaping the country's security framework.

The event featured a series of thought-provoking research papers that explored various dimensions of the economy and national security. The topics included the balance between economic growth and stability, historical lessons on power dynamics, and the complexities of civil-military cooperation in South Asia.
