National Defence College Bids Farewell To Major General Amal Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc MSc

The National Defence College (NDC) bids farewell to its outgoing commandant, Major General Amal Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc MSc in a formal ceremony held on 13 March 2023 at the NDC. The retiring senior officer was accorded a Guard turnout and honoured with the Guard of honour by the troops of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The event was attended by senior military officials, Academic staff and Course participants, who all gathered to pay tribute to the commandant for his exceptional leadership and dedicated service.

In his farewell speech, Major General Amal Karunasekara thanked the Staff and his colleagues for their support and hard work. He said that he was proud of the progress that the NDC had made during his tenure and expressed confidence that the collegewould continue to excel under its new commandant.

In recognition of his service and dedication, Major General Amal Karunasekara was presented with honours and a memento at the farewell ceremony.

After the senior officers made their formal farewells, all ranks making a street line bade farewell to Major General Amal Karunasekara who was sent off amidst cheers.
