NS&SS Course 3/2024 Visits the Airforce Base at Katunayake

The National Security and Strategic Studies Course 3/2024 course participants from the National Defence College had the opportunity to visit the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake on 7 August 2024. The visit was designed to provide the participants with an in-depth understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Sri Lanka Air Force. During the visit, the delegation explored the Aircraft Engineering Wing and the Aircraft Overhaul Wing, gaining valuable insights into the technical and operational aspects of Sri Lanka Air Force maintenance support.

The visit was significantly enhanced by the interactive engagement facilitated by the Base Commander, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva and the dedicated team of officers. Their expertise and willingness to share knowledge ensured that the visit was both educational and enriching. This experience deepened the participants' understanding of Sri Lanka Air Force operations and highlighted the strategic importance of air power in national defence and security.
