In line with the course curriculum of the NDC, the Course Participants of course number one had the opportunity to visit the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee from 11 August to 14 August 2022. During this study tour, course participants were taken on various educational and interactive sessions while having an excursion to the Naval Area.

During the visit to Eastern Naval Command Headquarters, the Course participants witnessed a comprehensive presentation on the vision, mission, role and task of the Eastern Naval Command followed by onboard visits to Capital Ships berthed in Trincomalee harbour. Visiting all destinations was of immense value to broaden the horizon of knowledge of course participants. Naval Museum, Koneshwaram/City visit, Pigeon Island and Whale Watching added unforgettable experiences in addition to the lessons of the Command and administration process. The Eastern Naval Command very positively accommodated the NDC delegation during the visits to the area and course Participants had a very rare opportunity to interact with the senior government officials and Officers of Eastern Naval Command and acquire firsthand information about the current security situation in the area.

Visits of this nature will give a tremendous opportunity to NDC course participants to witness how the tactical level national security process takes place on a massive scale. This precious opportunity will stretch better exposure and relate the 'ground realities' with issues discussed in their respective study modules.
