National security and strategic studies course 04/2025 commences

The National Security and Strategic Studies Course (NS&SS) 04/2025 officially commenced on January 15, 2025. The NS&SS course plays a pivotal role in shaping future leaders to function as strategic thinkers in the realm of national security. The college welcomed course participants from the Tri-Forces, the Department of Police and distinguished foreign participants from Bangladesh, India, Oman, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Secretary, along with all attendees, paid tribute to the nation's values and The Commandant of the National Defence College Major General CS Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG, addressed the course participants with a warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations on their selection for this prestigious program. In his speech, he underscored the vital importance of the course in enhancing participants’ understanding of strategic decision-making and national security.

The proceedings of the course commenced with lectures delivered by Major General Amal Karunasekara (Retd), the first commandant of NDC and Admiral (Prof) Jayanath Colombage (Retd).
