NDC Course 3/2024 Visits Strategically Significant Trincomalee

The Course Participants and the Faculty of National Security and Strategic Studies (NS&SS) Course No 3/2024 of the National Defence College successfully completed a study tour to Trincomalee with the aim of broadening the knowledge spectrum on National Security dynamics and acquainting on the functions and duties of significant governmental and military establishments from 19 to 22 March 2024.

During the visit, the Course Participants had the opportunity to visit the Eastern Province Governor’s office (Secretariat) and Divisional Secretariat of Trincomalee and interacted with senior government officials in view of government administration in the area and shared their valuable experiences and insights.

Course participants also had the opportunity to visit Eastern Naval Command, and interacted with the Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral PC Silva USP, ndc, psc, Mphil (D&SS), Msc (DS) Mgt, Msc (D&SS), Dip in D&WA to discuss the role of the navy with contemporary maritime issues, preparedness and significance of the harbour from the history and present.

At the culmination of the study tour, the Course paid a visit to Polonnaruwa National Museum and School of Artillery Gun Park and Artillery Preservation Centre at Minneriya as well. The Commandant NDC headed the delegation.
