NDC Commenced The Third Batch of The National Security and Strategic Studies Course 03/2024 With International Participants

In a historic moment, the National Defence College, Sri Lanka embarked on its main annual academic programme, National Security and Strategic Studies Course No 03/2024 today (16 January 2024), marking the initiation of a comprehensive training program aimed at fostering strategic thinking and leadership skills among strategic level professionals. What sets this iteration apart is the unprecedented inclusion of foreign course participants, marking a significant step towards global collaboration in national security and strategic education.

The Commandant of the National Defence College, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, formally inaugurated the course with a ceremonial address to the diverse group of participants. This occasion not only signifies the evolution of the National Defence Course but also reflects the growing importance of international cooperation in addressing contemporary security challenges.

The Commandant expressed his gratitude for the presence of foreign participants, emphasizing the shared commitment to global peace and security. He highlighted the significance of learning from each other's experiences and perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of diverse strategic landscapes. The day's program was concluded with the a lecture on ‘Basic Principles of Strategy, Policy and Concepts’ by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia and ASEAN and former Commander of the Navy His Excellency Admiral Professor Jayanath Collombage (Retd) RSP VSV USP rcds psc.
