The National Defence College Celebrates The New Year

On the vibrant evening of 5th April 2024, the National Defence College hosted a spectacular New Year festival at the Barnhouse Studio at Hirana - Panadura. The event was a blend of traditions, camaraderie, and cultural exchanges, bringing together local and foreign Course Participants to celebrate the spirit of unity and festivity..

The festival aimed to foster solidarity among the Course Participants and their families while providing a unique opportunity for Foreign Course Participants to immerse themselves in the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivities and traditions of Sri Lanka. It was a momentous occasion to showcase the warmth and hospitality of the Nation as well.

The event featured a captivating array of activities, including a traditional sweets table laden with delectable treats that portrayed Sri Lanka's culinary heritage. Moreover, the festival offered a glimpse into the vibrant series of traditional games that brought laughter and excitement to the gathering.

As the evening unfolded, the festivities culminated in a grand gala night filled with entertainment and merriment. The Commandant of National Defence College, Major General Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu graced the event as the Chief Guest.
