VISIT TO THE CENTRAL BANK OF SRI LANKA

Participants of NDC Course Number 5 visited the Central Bank of Sri Lanka(CBSL) on 1^st July 2026. Visit was designed to provide better exposure to the apex financial institution in the country and to deepen participants’ understanding of its pivotal role in the national economy. Visited team was welcomed by Dr. (Ms.) Hemantha Ekanayake, Director of the Communication Department on behalf of the Governor of CBSL, and Mr. Naveen Perera, Deputy Director of the Economic Research Department conducted a detailed briefing. The visit further gave an opportunity to explore the Economic History Museum.

The visit offered participants a comprehensive understanding of the objectives and functions of the CBSL, alongside an overview of the current status of the economy.
