NDC HOSTS AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SL AT THE ‘DINERS’CLUB’

His Excellency Matthew Duckworth, the High Commissioner of Australia to SL, honoured NDC with his gracious presence as the Guest Speaker at the ‘Diners’ Club’ held on 13^th February 2026. Commandant and Spouse warmly welcomed the High Commissioner and his Spouse upon arrival.During the introductory speech, Commandant thanks High Commissioner expressing appreciation for the acceptance of invitation. Commandant further emphasized the support given by the Australian government to rebuild the lives of people affected from cyclone ‘Ditwah’

High Commissioner’s speech was focused on ‘𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧’. During the speech he highlighted the challenges faced by middle powers amid intensifying major-power competition, and elaborated on how such states actively engage with major powers in order to safeguard national interests while maintaining strategic balance.
