ADDRESS BY THE SECRETARY TO THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha(Retd) WWV RWP and two Bars MSc(Def Stu) in Mgt MMSc(Strat Stu-China) USP RSP and Bar MSc(Def & Strat Stu) fndu psc addressed the participants of NDC course number 04, on 6^th November 2025. Commandant welcomed the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence upon arrival and had a call-on prior to the address.

During the speech, the Secretary shared valuable insights on priorities national security concerns and the strategic role of senior military leadership in shaping Sri Lanka’s security landscape. He also highlighted the importance of learning at the NDC as future policy makers, emphasising the need for continuous intellectual development.

The event provided an opportunity for the course participants, to have an informal interaction with the Secretary of the Defence, prior to the termination.
