The 18^th edition of ‘International Research Conference’ of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU-IRC) was held from 30^th September 2025 to 01^st October 2025, under the theme of ‘Bridging Frontiers: Interdisciplinary research for sustainable progress’, with the patronage of Secretary of Defence as the chief guest.

Commandant NDC delivered a speech on the topic of ‘Climate change as a new frontier for international security’. During the speech he described how climate change leads to long-term changes in global weather patterns and the impacts it has had on the entire world. Further, specially highlighted how climate change impacts on Sri Lanka and the actions as a country has taken.
