NDC marks its First Day in the New Year -2022

The commencement of work year -2022 at the National Defence College (NDC) got to a brief festive start this morning (3 Jan) giving pride of place for Flag-raising, commemoration of the fallen War Heroes, Reading the oath of state Allegiance and the Commandant's customary address to All Ranks.

The Commandant of NDC Major General Amal Karunasekara and Senior Directing Staff (SDS) Army Major General SRK Hettiarachchi were invited to set off the day’s programme by hoisting the National flag and the NDC flag respectively. The event consisted of the singing of the National Anthem and paying tribute to all fallen War Heroes by observing a two-minute silence. The day’s sequence reached its apex with reading aloud the State Allegiance Oath and the Commandant's brief address to all ranks.

All Senior Officers including the Participants of the NDC Course No 01, Officers and Other Ranks serving the NDC were present during the ceremony.
