The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Delivers a Lecture at NDC

On the invitation of the Commandant NDC, His Excellency Gopal Baglay, the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka delivered a lecture on the theme of "The Role of India in Managing Emerging Strategic Trends in the Indian Ocean Region" to the participants of the NDC Course No: 01. The High Commissioner shared his perspectives on the challenges facing Indian Ocean Region and how India could cooperate with the regional countries to counter such challenges. He emphasized the strong cultural and historical bond that shared between India and Sri Lanka and importance of mutual cooperation and commitments of both countries to flourish as neighbours.

The High Commissioner was warmly welcomed at the college by the Commandant Major General Amal Karunasekara and there was a brief interactive session arranged at the NDC after the address. The High Commissioner Gopal Baglay and the Commandant Major General Amal Karunasekara exchanged mementos as tokens of goodwill and understanding. The Defence Advisor to High Commission of India in Sri Lanka Captain Vikas Sood accompanied the High Commissioner.

Before the envoy’s departure, The High Commissioner left his compliments in the Visitors’ Book.
