Major General Chamila Munasinghe Assumes Duties as the Commandant of NDC

A proud alumnus of the National Defence College, Major General Chamila Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG MSc(NS & SS) assumed duties as the 3rd Commandant of NDC with effect from 01 January 2025. His appointment marked remarkable prominence and significant milestone in the history of NDC becoming the Commandant representing NDC Sri Lanka. Prior to this appointment, he held the office as the 38th Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, since 15th August 2024. As a pivotal Principal Staff Officer to the Commander of the Army, he was assigned with formulating and implementing policies on administrative matters, ensuring the smooth and effective execution of the Commander’s directives. Further, he had been the 26th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women`s Corps

He completed the National Security and Strategic Studies Course Number 01 with a distinction. His tenure at the NDC not only highlighted his strategic acumen and scholarly prowess but also underscored his commitment to advancing military excellence. Following his exceptional performance, he was honoured to return to the NDC as a Senior Directing Staff, where he contributed to shaping the next generation of military leaders of course number 02. His unblemished distinguished over 34 years of career, marked dedicated service, exemplifies the values and leadership qualities fostered by the proud alumni of the NDC.
