Vice Admiral BAKSP Banagoda RSP USP ndc psc is a distinguished naval officer recently appointed as the 26th Commander of Sri Lanka Navy. With a maritime career spanning nearly 35 years, his exemplary service is marked by exceptional leadership and extensive expertise across various naval and tri-service assignments.

Throughout his career, the senior officer has demonstrated unparalleled dedication, skill and commitment. His educational background includes a Master of Maritime Policy from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and a Master's in Business Administration in Human Resources Management, underscoring his broad expertise in both maritime and organizational management. Being a notable alumnus of the National Defence College, he received the accolade of 'Most Outstanding Course Participant of the Navy' on the completion of the National Security & Strategic Studies Course number 01 in 2022, reflecting his outstanding performance and deep commitment to national security and strategic excellence.

His remarkable achievements in command and staff roles, coupled with the strategic insights gained from the NDC, position him as a leading figure in shaping the future of the Sri Lanka Navy.
